The folks who are responsible for the Swipe Toolkit have generously allowed me to make an Open Source version of their Data Calculator project. The Data Calculator is an attempt to educate people that their personal information is valuable and should not be given away. The folks who created the original calculator referenced a large number of commercial sources to determine the worth of bits of data – they did all the heavy lifting.
Launch the Data Calculator using Java Web Start (Requires Java 5)- The application is signed by a self generated certificate. If you don’t trust me, wait for the version for your platform to be released.

- Mac OS X Disk Image
- Linux – the generic release should work.
